El incidente ocurri\u00f3 en el and\u00e9n de la <strong>l\u00ednea E con direcci\u00f3n a Manhattan<\/strong>, en la estaci\u00f3n <strong>Kew Gardens-Union Turnpike<\/strong>, alrededor de las <strong>3:15 p.m. del mi\u00e9rcoles<\/strong>. Las v\u00edctimas, de <strong>42 y 50 a\u00f1os<\/strong>, fueron atacadas por un hombre que sigue pr\u00f3fugo y es buscado por la <strong>Polic\u00eda de Nueva York (NYPD)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El <strong>NYPD difundi\u00f3 im\u00e1genes de vigilancia<\/strong> del sospechoso y pidi\u00f3 ayuda a la ciudadan\u00eda para identificarlo. <strong>Carlos Plasencia<\/strong>, un residente de <strong>50 a\u00f1os<\/strong> que presenci\u00f3 el ataque, cont\u00f3 a <em>Daily News<\/em> que se encontraba en el and\u00e9n cuando escuch\u00f3 gritos: <em>\u00abVi gente corriendo y vociferando&#8230; Una persona sangraba, y otra tambi\u00e9n. Parec\u00eda drogado y atacaba a la gente sin raz\u00f3n\u00bb<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aunque Plasencia crey\u00f3 al principio que su herida era superficial, al llegar a su trabajo not\u00f3 que necesitaba atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica y fue llevado al <strong>Hospital Elmhurst<\/strong>, donde recibi\u00f3 <strong>siete puntos de sutura en la ceja<\/strong>. La otra v\u00edctima fue atendida en el <strong>Hospital New York-Presbyterian Queens<\/strong> y dada de alta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Este episodio refleja la <strong>creciente preocupaci\u00f3n por la violencia en el transporte p\u00fablico de Nueva York<\/strong>, donde, pese a una <strong>reducci\u00f3n del 4.3% en delitos<\/strong> en comparaci\u00f3n con 2024, los ataques aleatorios siguen siendo un problema. Seg\u00fan estad\u00edsticas del <strong>NYPD<\/strong>, hasta el <strong>5 de octubre<\/strong> se registraron <strong>1,598 delitos<\/strong> en el Metro, mientras que las <strong>agresiones graves<\/strong> se mantuvieron estables en <strong>435 casos<\/strong>.
