Su llegada al Ayuntamiento es el resultado de un movimiento amplio e inclusivo que logr\u00f3 convocar a comunidades diversas en torno a causas fundamentales para nuestra gente, como el cuidado infantil universal, el alivio al costo de la vivienda y un transporte p\u00fablico \u00e1gil, accesible y gratuito\u201d, se\u00f1al\u00f3 el legislador.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c1lvarez destac\u00f3 que la nueva administraci\u00f3n inicia su gesti\u00f3n con un mandato claro y una responsabilidad hist\u00f3rica frente a las familias trabajadoras de la ciudad. \u201cDesde Albany y desde nuestro Distrito 78, en El Bronx, reitero mi disposici\u00f3n a colaborar y a trabajar en unidad con la Administraci\u00f3n Mamdani para convertir en realidades concretas los compromisos asumidos durante una campa\u00f1a que ya forma parte de la historia pol\u00edtica de Nueva York\u201d, afirm\u00f3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El asamble\u00edsta subray\u00f3 la necesidad de un liderazgo municipal centrado en la gente y no en intereses econ\u00f3micos concentrados. \u201cNueva York necesita un liderazgo que defienda a sus comunidades y no que se subordine a los intereses de grandes fortunas. He tenido la oportunidad de conocer de cerca al alcalde Mamdani y de trabajar junto a \u00e9l en proyectos de ley; puedo dar fe de su \u00e9tica de trabajo, su autenticidad y su profunda vocaci\u00f3n de servicio p\u00fablico\u201d, expres\u00f3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/elradardigital.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-01-02-at-12.47.16-PM-1-766x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-104805\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>En ese sentido, \u00c1lvarez manifest\u00f3 plena confianza en el desempe\u00f1o del nuevo alcalde. \u201cEstoy convencido de que ejercer\u00e1 sus responsabilidades con la integridad, la humildad y el respeto que el cargo merece, honrando la confianza depositada por el pueblo neoyorquino\u201d, agreg\u00f3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finalmente, el legislador enfatiz\u00f3 la relevancia del nuevo per\u00edodo de gobierno para el futuro de la ciudad. \u201cLos pr\u00f3ximos cuatro a\u00f1os marcar\u00e1n un punto de inflexi\u00f3n en la medida en que fortalezcamos la convicci\u00f3n de que el gobierno municipal debe estar al servicio de la gente y no de los sectores m\u00e1s poderosos. Extiendo mis mejores deseos al alcalde Mamdani y a todo el pueblo de Nueva York en este nuevo a\u00f1o, con la certeza de que juntos avanzaremos hacia una nueva etapa de conquistas, equidad y justicia social\u201d, concluy\u00f3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sobre la juramentaci\u00f3n<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Miles de personas se congregaron en Manhattan el D\u00eda de A\u00f1o Nuevo para presenciar la ceremonia p\u00fablica de juramentaci\u00f3n del nuevo alcalde de la Ciudad de Nueva York, Zohran Mamdani. El exmiembro de la Asamblea Estatal se convierte en el primer alcalde musulm\u00e1n de la ciudad y, a sus 34 a\u00f1os, en uno de los m\u00e1s j\u00f3venes en asumir esta responsabilidad en la historia de la Gran Manzana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De manera simb\u00f3lica, Mamdani jur\u00f3 por primera vez como alcalde durante una ceremonia privada a la medianoche, en la estaci\u00f3n de metro del Ayuntamiento. En un gesto de profundo significado hist\u00f3rico y cultural, prest\u00f3 juramento sobre el Cor\u00e1n, en lugar de la Biblia, marcando as\u00ed el inicio de un nuevo cap\u00edtulo en el liderazgo
