Paterson, Nueva Jersey. \u2013 El Consulado General de la Rep\u00fablica Dominicana en el estado de New Jersey, la Fundaci\u00f3n \u00danete, el CDI de Hackensack Meridian Health y el Instituto de Dominicanos en el Exterior \u2013 New Jersey (INDEX-NJ) anunciaron esta semana, durante una rueda de prensa, la puesta en funcionamiento de un mam\u00f3grafo m\u00f3vil en la ciudad de Paterson, como parte de una iniciativa interinstitucional orientada a la prevenci\u00f3n y detecci\u00f3n temprana del c\u00e1ncer de mama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Durante el anuncio oficial, la vicec\u00f3nsul Juana Iris Parra, en representaci\u00f3n del c\u00f3nsul general Jos\u00e9 Francisco Santana, destac\u00f3 la importancia de unir esfuerzos entre instituciones p\u00fablicas y organizaciones comunitarias para impactar positivamente la calidad de vida de la poblaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCon esta iniciativa se estar\u00e1n realizando mamograf\u00edas gratuitas dirigidas especialmente a comunidades vulnerables y a personas sin cobertura m\u00e9dica, reafirmando nuestro compromiso con la salud preventiva, la equidad y el acceso digno a los servicios de salud\u201d, expres\u00f3 Parra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La funcionaria consular subray\u00f3 que este tipo de programas fortalece el v\u00ednculo del consulado con la comunidad dominicana y latina en general, al tiempo que promueve una cultura de prevenci\u00f3n y cuidado integral de la mujer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De igual forma, se explic\u00f3 que las atenciones se llevar\u00e1n a cabo el \u00faltimo viernes de cada mes, dando inicio el viernes 30 de enero de 2026, fecha en la que se desarrollar\u00e1 la primera jornada de prevenci\u00f3n del c\u00e1ncer de mama en las instalaciones del Consulado General de la Rep\u00fablica Dominicana en New Jersey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Posteriormente, el mam\u00f3grafo m\u00f3vil recorrer\u00e1 distintas zonas de la ciudad de Paterson, con el prop\u00f3sito de reducir las barreras de acceso geogr\u00e1fico y facilitar que m\u00e1s mujeres puedan beneficiarse de este servicio esencial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTenemos como objetivo principal ampliar el acceso a servicios de salud preventiva para comunidades minoritarias y personas que no cuentan con seguro m\u00e9dico, a trav\u00e9s del programa NJCEED (New Jersey Cancer Education and Early Detection), contribuyendo a reducir desigualdades en el acceso a diagn\u00f3sticos oportunos\u201d, explicaron en conjunto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Janette Garabito, en representaci\u00f3n de INDEX-NJ, valor\u00f3 positivamente la alianza interinstitucional y resalt\u00f3 que el proyecto responde a una necesidad real de la comunidad migrante, donde muchas mujeres posponen chequeos m\u00e9dicos por razones econ\u00f3micas o de acceso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Por su parte, la doctora Irma Hern\u00e1ndez, de la Fundaci\u00f3n \u00danete, enfatiz\u00f3 que la detecci\u00f3n temprana del c\u00e1ncer de mama incrementa significativamente las posibilidades de tratamiento exitoso, por lo que exhort\u00f3 a las mujeres a aprovechar este servicio gratuito.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En tanto, el doctor Abraham Aragon\u00e9s, M.D., M.S., Investigador Principal del Programa NJCEED del CDI de Hackensack Meridian Health, explic\u00f3 que el programa cumple con altos est\u00e1ndares m\u00e9dicos y de confidencialidad, garantizando evaluaciones seguras y confiables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Las instituciones participantes reiteraron que esta iniciativa forma parte de un modelo de salud comunitaria que busca impactar de manera sostenible a poblaciones hist\u00f3ricamente desatendidas, mediante educaci\u00f3n, prevenci\u00f3n y acceso oportuno a servicios especializados.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esta acci\u00f3n conjunta representa un esfuerzo significativo en favor de la salud, fortaleciendo la cooperaci\u00f3n entre entidades p\u00fablicas y privadas, y contribuyendo al bienestar integral de las comunidades m\u00e1s vulnerables del Estado de New Jersey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
