Aunque a menudo su figura queda en segundo plano, Mella fue un <strong>militar, pol\u00edtico y activista<\/strong> esencial en la <strong>lucha por la independencia<\/strong> y en la <strong>expulsi\u00f3n de los haitianos<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u00abMella fue un estratega brillante. Sin \u00e9l, la independencia no habr\u00eda sido posible\u00bb<\/em>, se\u00f1ala el historiador <strong>Jos\u00e9 Antoine Fiallo Billini<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>El disparo que proclam\u00f3 la libertad<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>El <strong>27 de febrero de 1844<\/strong>, Mella <strong>dispar\u00f3 su trabuco<\/strong> en la <strong>Puerta de la Misericordia<\/strong>, un acto que simboliz\u00f3 el inicio de la <strong>proclamaci\u00f3n de la Rep\u00fablica Dominicana<\/strong> y el izamiento de la <strong>Bandera Nacional<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u00abEse disparo fue el grito de libertad que reson\u00f3 en todo el pa\u00eds\u00bb<\/em>, relata Fiallo Billini.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Un manual de guerra para la resistencia<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Mella no solo fue un l\u00edder, sino tambi\u00e9n un <strong>estratega<\/strong>. Cre\u00f3 un <strong>manual de guerra de guerrillas<\/strong> para organizar <strong>rebeliones efectivas<\/strong> contra los haitianos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u00abSu manual fue clave para la resistencia. Mella entendi\u00f3 que la lucha requer\u00eda estrategia\u00bb<\/em>, explica el historiador.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>La Trinitaria: El coraz\u00f3n de la independencia<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>En <strong>1838<\/strong>, <strong>Duarte fund\u00f3 La Trinitaria<\/strong>, una sociedad secreta que buscaba <strong>liberar al pa\u00eds del dominio haitiano<\/strong>. Mella y S\u00e1nchez fueron <strong>figuras clave<\/strong> en este movimiento.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u00abLa Trinitaria fue el germen de la independencia. Mella y S\u00e1nchez mantuvieron viva la lucha\u00bb<\/em>, recuerda Fiallo Billini.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>El 27 de febrero de 1844: El nacimiento de una naci\u00f3n<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Con Duarte en el exilio, <strong>Mella y S\u00e1nchez lideraron el movimiento independentista<\/strong>. El <strong>27 de febrero de 1844<\/strong>, Mella <strong>dispar\u00f3 su trabuco<\/strong> en la <strong>Puerta de la Misericordia<\/strong>, proclamando la <strong>independencia<\/strong> y <strong>izando la bandera nacional<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u00abMella no solo dispar\u00f3 un arma.
