El incidente ocurri\u00f3 en <strong>agosto de 2023<\/strong>, cuando Dur\u00e1n <strong>arroj\u00f3 una nevera port\u00e1til<\/strong> contra Duprey durante una persecuci\u00f3n policial en <strong>El Bronx<\/strong>, causando que el sospechoso cayera y sufriera un <strong>trauma craneal fatal<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Un polic\u00eda con un historial ejemplar, seg\u00fan su defensa<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Durante la audiencia, Dur\u00e1n se refiri\u00f3 a s\u00ed mismo como un <strong>\u00abpolic\u00eda ejemplar\u00bb<\/strong> y expres\u00f3 su <strong>arrepentimiento<\/strong> por el incidente que puso fin a su carrera. <em>\u00abAcept\u00e9 este trabajo para salvar vidas. Me sent\u00ed fatal al ver el accidente de Eric Duprey. Lamento que este d\u00eda haya ocurrido\u00bb<\/em>, declar\u00f3 ante el tribunal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dur\u00e1n relat\u00f3 c\u00f3mo su <strong>infancia en El Bronx<\/strong>, marcada por la violencia y la p\u00e9rdida de amigos en pandillas y drogas, lo motiv\u00f3 a unirse a la polic\u00eda. <em>\u00abTom\u00e9 ese dolor y lo canalic\u00e9 para convertirme en polic\u00eda\u00bb<\/em>, afirm\u00f3, destacando que es <strong>padre de tres hijos<\/strong> y que su labor inclu\u00eda <strong>proteger a v\u00edctimas de violencia dom\u00e9stica<\/strong> y <strong>retirar m\u00e1s de 50 armas de fuego<\/strong> de las calles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>El incidente que cambi\u00f3 todo<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>El caso se remonta a <strong>agosto de 2023<\/strong>, cuando Dur\u00e1n, durante una <strong>operaci\u00f3n antidrogas<\/strong>, lanz\u00f3 una nevera contra Duprey, quien hu\u00eda por una acera en El Bronx.
