Alex M\u00e9ndez, encabez\u00f3 la tarde de este martes una protesta frente a las edificaciones que alojan las oficinas de la alcald\u00eda, conocidas como \u201cCity Hall\u201d, ubicadas en el 155 Market Street, en Paterson, Nueva Jersey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La manifestaci\u00f3n reuni\u00f3 a decenas de comunitarios, l\u00edderes y simpatizantes que denunciaron lo que califican como una campa\u00f1a de retaliaci\u00f3n pol\u00edtica contra sectores que representan el crecimiento y el empoderamiento pol\u00edtico de la comunidad latina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ecodelpueblo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-05-19-at-8.58.12-PM-1-620x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-24018\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Con pancartas en mano y consignas como:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEL FUTURO SE CONSTRUYE AHORA\u201d<br>\u201cPATERSON SE RESPETA\u201d<br>\u201cNUESTRA VOZ, NUESTRO PODER\u201d<br>\u201cNO A LA RETALIACI\u00d3N POL\u00cdTICA\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>los manifestantes elevaron su voz en defensa de la democracia y del derecho de la comunidad a participar libremente en los procesos pol\u00edticos de la ciudad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Durante la actividad, M\u00e9ndez expres\u00f3 de forma enf\u00e1tica con altoparlante en mano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTodos somos Alex M\u00e9ndez, hoy es Alex M\u00e9ndez, ma\u00f1ana puede ser cualquiera de nuestros hijos\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ecodelpueblo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-05-20-at-1.28.27-PM-5-622x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-24020\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>El dirigente pol\u00edtico sostuvo que la comunidad que se respeta debe mantenerse unida y levantar su voz en repudio a todo atropello que amenace la participaci\u00f3n democr\u00e1tica y el avance pol\u00edtico de la gente trabajadora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Asimismo, record\u00f3 que la Junta Electoral todav\u00eda no ha emitido un resultado final y que a\u00fan faltan aproximadamente 2,000 votos por contabilizar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En la zona se observ\u00f3 una fuerte presencia policial, cuyos agentes permanecieron atentos al desarrollo de la protesta durante toda la jornada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La manifestaci\u00f3n transcurri\u00f3 de manera pac\u00edfica, mientras los asistentes insist\u00edan en que la democracia no puede ser silenciada mediante persecuciones ni presiones pol\u00edticas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>El resultado oficial ser\u00e1 dado a conocer este mi\u00e9rcoles 20 de
