Este premio, que <strong>distinguen a l\u00edderes globales<\/strong> por su <strong>compromiso con la libertad y el desarrollo<\/strong>, fue entregado al mandatario dominicano durante su <strong>visita a Miami<\/strong> el <strong>s\u00e1bado 17 de mayo de 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En un <strong>mensaje difundido en sus redes sociales<\/strong>, la embajada estadounidense <strong>felicit\u00f3 a Abinader<\/strong> y <strong>destac\u00f3 el trabajo conjunto<\/strong> entre ambos pa\u00edses para <strong>promover y proteger la libertad de expresi\u00f3n<\/strong>. <strong>\u00abEste reconocimiento es un testimonio del liderazgo y el compromiso del presidente Abinader con la libertad y el desarrollo de Rep\u00fablica Dominicana\u00bb<\/strong>, se\u00f1alaron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>El significado del \u00abChampion of Freedom Award\u00bb<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>El <strong>\u00abChampion of Freedom Award\u00bb<\/strong> es un <strong>galard\u00f3n internacional<\/strong> que el <strong>Adam Smith Center for Economic Freedom<\/strong> de la <strong>FIU<\/strong> otorga a <strong>personalidades destacadas<\/strong> por su <strong>labor en la promoci\u00f3n de la libertad econ\u00f3mica, el fortalecimiento institucional y el desarrollo sostenible<\/strong>. Al recibir este premio, Abinader se une a un <strong>selecto grupo de l\u00edderes globales<\/strong> que han sido <strong>reconocidos por su contribuci\u00f3n a la expansi\u00f3n de la libertad<\/strong> en el mundo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La embajada de EE.UU. <strong>cit\u00f3 una frase del padre fundador Benjamin Franklin<\/strong> para <strong>enfatizar la importancia de la libertad<\/strong>: <strong>\u00abQuienes sacrifican una libertad esencial por una seguridad pasajera, no merecen ni la libertad ni la seguridad\u00bb<\/strong>.
