Actualmente, es la <strong>tercera causa de muerte<\/strong> en el grupo de <strong>10 a 24 a\u00f1os<\/strong>. En <strong>2021<\/strong>, <strong>18.157 j\u00f3venes<\/strong> perdieron la vida por suicidio en la regi\u00f3n, una cifra que <strong>requiere atenci\u00f3n inmediata<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\ud83d\udcca Los grupos m\u00e1s afectados<\/strong><br>El estudio del <strong>Lancet Regional Health \u2013 Americas<\/strong> revela que los <strong>mayores incrementos<\/strong> en las tasas de suicidio se dan en:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Ni\u00f1as y adolescentes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>J\u00f3venes de 10 a 14 a\u00f1os<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\ud83d\udd0d \u00bfPor qu\u00e9 aumenta el suicidio en j\u00f3venes?<\/strong><br>La <strong>OPS<\/strong> identifica m\u00faltiples factores:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Depresi\u00f3n y ansiedad<\/strong> en edades m\u00e1s tempranas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ciberacoso y redes sociales<\/strong>: <em>\u00abEl acoso ya no termina al salir del colegio; ahora sigue en casa a trav\u00e9s de las redes\u00bb<\/em>, explic\u00f3 la <strong>doctora Zohra Abaakouk<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Consumo de sustancias<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Presi\u00f3n social<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Acceso f\u00e1cil a medios letales<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\ud83d\udee1\ufe0f \u00bfQu\u00e9 se puede hacer para prevenirlo?<\/strong><br>La <strong>OPS<\/strong> y la <strong>OEA<\/strong> han instado a los pa\u00edses a <strong>tomar medidas urgentes<\/strong>, como:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Fortalecer habilidades socioemocionales<\/strong> desde los <strong>3-4 a\u00f1os<\/strong> para ense\u00f1ar a los ni\u00f1os a <strong>manejar emociones<\/strong> y resolver conflictos.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Programas de salud mental en escuelas<\/strong> con <strong>protocolos claros<\/strong> para detectar y atender casos de acoso, ansiedad y depresi\u00f3n.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Capacitar a docentes, padres y profesionales<\/strong> para identificar <strong>se\u00f1ales de alerta<\/strong> (aislamiento, autolesiones, cambios de conducta).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Regular el acceso a redes sociales<\/strong>: Como en <strong>Australia<\/strong>, donde se <strong>prohibi\u00f3 el acceso a menores de 16 a\u00f1os<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\ud83d\udcac \u00abEl suicidio se puede prevenir con apoyo y di\u00e1logo\u00bb<\/strong><br>La doctora Abaakouk insiste en que <strong>la prevenci\u00f3n del suicidio requiere un enfoque integral<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Intervenciones tempranas<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Acompa\u00f1amiento familiar, escolar y comunitario<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Conversaciones abiertas sobre salud mental<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u00abNo es necesario ir al psic\u00f3logo para atender la salud mental; basta con tener a alguien con quien hablar\u00bb<\/em>, concluy\u00f3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u00bfQu\u00e9 papel crees que deben jugar los gobiernos para prevenir el suicidio en j\u00f3venes?<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\ud83d\udea8 Una emergencia de salud p\u00fablica: El suicidio en j\u00f3venes aumenta sin controlEl suicidio entre adolescentes y adultos j\u00f3venes en Am\u00e9rica ha aumentado un 38% en las \u00faltimas dos d\u00e9cadas, seg\u00fan un estudio de la OPS basado en datos de la OMS.
