Los cient\u00edficos del laboratorio con sede en California repitieron el hito de la ignici\u00f3n por fusi\u00f3n en un experimento en la Instalaci\u00f3n Nacional de Ignici\u00f3n el 30 de julio, en la que se produjo un mayor rendimiento energ\u00e9tico que en diciembre, seg\u00fan asegur\u00f3 a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/energy\/us-scientists-repeat-fusion-power-breakthrough-ft-2023-08-06\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Reuters<\/a>&nbsp;un portavoz de la instalaci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica. Los resultados finales a\u00fan se est\u00e1n analizando y est\u00e1n pendientes de publicarse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cDesde que demostramos la ignici\u00f3n por fusi\u00f3n por primera vez en la Instalaci\u00f3n Nacional de Ignici\u00f3n en diciembre de 2022, hemos continuado realizando experimentos para estudiar este nuevo y emocionante mecanismo cient\u00edfico. En un experimento realizado el 30 de julio, repetimos la ignici\u00f3n\u201d, explic\u00f3 un portavoz&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/a9815bca-1b9d-4ba0-8d01-96ede77ba06a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">al&nbsp;<em>Financial Times<\/em><\/a>. \u201cComo es nuestra pr\u00e1ctica est\u00e1ndar, planeamos informar esos resultados en las pr\u00f3ximas conferencias cient\u00edficas y en publicaciones revisadas por pares\u201d, a\u00f1adi\u00f3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El Lawrence Livermore logr\u00f3&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/elpais.com\/ciencia\/2022-12-13\/ee-uu-anuncia-un-logro-cientifico-historico-hacia-la-energia-inagotable-con-la-fusion-nuclear.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">por primera vez<\/a>&nbsp;una ganancia neta de energ\u00eda en un experimento de fusi\u00f3n con l\u00e1seres el 5 de diciembre de 2022. Ese experimento obtuvo brevemente lo que se conoce como ignici\u00f3n por fusi\u00f3n al generar 3,15 megajulios de energ\u00eda despu\u00e9s de que el l\u00e1ser invirtiera 2,05 megajulios en su objetivo, seg\u00fan el Departamento de Energ\u00eda de EE UU, de quien depende este proyecto. En otras palabras, produjo m\u00e1s energ\u00eda a partir de la fusi\u00f3n que la energ\u00eda l\u00e1ser utilizada para impulsarlo: en ese caso, la ganancia fue del 50%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El Departamento de Energ\u00eda lo calific\u00f3 como \u201cun gran avance cient\u00edfico en desarrollo que allanar\u00e1 el camino para los avances en la defensa nacional y el futuro de la energ\u00eda limpia\u201d. La secretaria de Energ\u00eda, Jennifer Granholm, lo calific\u00f3 de \u201cavance hist\u00f3rico\u201d entre una enorme expectaci\u00f3n, dado que la fusi\u00f3n se considera por muchos&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/elpais.com\/ciencia\/2022-12-13\/la-energia-de-fusion-es-la-energia-del-futuro-y-siempre-lo-sera.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">el Santo Grial<\/a>&nbsp;de la energ\u00eda limpia e ilimitada.
