El fiscal general Merrick Garland nombr\u00f3 este viernes a David Weiss, fiscal federal de Delaware, como fiscal especial de la investigaci\u00f3n contra Hunter Biden<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weiss ya hab\u00eda dirigido la investigaci\u00f3n sobre Hunter Biden en Delaware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La determinaci\u00f3n del Departamento de Justicia ocurre tras el fallido intento de que Hunter Biden lograra un acuerdo de culpabilidad por delitos fiscales y portaci\u00f3n de arma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEl martes de esta semana, el se\u00f1or Weiss me inform\u00f3 que, a su juicio, su investigaci\u00f3n hab\u00eda llegado a una etapa en la que deber\u00eda continuar su trabajo como fiscal especial, y me pidi\u00f3 que lo nombrara como tal\u201d, dijo Garland en un comunicado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El fiscal Garland agreg\u00f3 que hab\u00eda \u201ccircunstancias extraordinarias\u201d que obligaban a tomar la decisi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAl considerar su solicitud, as\u00ed como las circunstancias extraordinarias relacionadas con este asunto, he concluido que es de inter\u00e9s p\u00fablico nombrarlo como fiscal especial\u201d, indic\u00f3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El 27 de julio, la jueza Maryellen Noreika cuestion\u00f3 el acuerdo de culpabilidad de Hunter Biden<\/a><\/strong>, ya que podr\u00eda afectar los se\u00f1alamientos sobre el uso de arma, por lo que la defensa y fiscales deber\u00e1n modificar el convenio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ese d\u00eda, el hijo del presidente Biden se declar\u00f3 \u201cno culpable\u201d de dos delitos por evasi\u00f3n de impuestos, cuando hab\u00eda acordado lo contrario.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El fiscal Garland indic\u00f3 que el nombramiento de Weiss le permitir\u00e1 al ahora fiscal especial avanzar con la indagatoria y fincarla en cualquier corte de distrito del pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los republicanos han cuestionado la investigaci\u00f3n<\/strong>, incluso magaron con juicio pol\u00edtico contra el fiscal general Garland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El republicano Jim Jordan (Ohio), presidente del Comit\u00e9 Judicial de la C\u00e1mara de Representantes, ha cuestionado ante el presidente Biden sobre una posible orden sobre c\u00f3mo llevar a cabo la investigaci\u00f3n, algo que han negado autoridades judiciales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El ahora fiscal especial Weiss dijo estar dispuesto a ser cuestionado ante el Congreso para demostrar la imparcialidad en las investigaciones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
