{"id":43341,"date":"2023-11-16T20:11:13","date_gmt":"2023-11-17T00:11:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/romanticany.com\/?p=43341"},"modified":"2023-11-16T20:11:13","modified_gmt":"2023-11-17T00:11:13","slug":"__trashed-1859","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/romanticany.com\/?p=43341","title":{"rendered":"C\u00d3NSUL ELEGIO J\u00c1QUEZ RESALTA LA INSTALACI\u00d3N DE NUEVOS MEDALLONES NACIONALES A LO LARGO DE LA AVENIDA DE LAS AM\u00c9RICAS*"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Acto encabezado por el comisionado del Transporte Ydanis Rodriguez<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Por : Aquiles Rojas<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NUEVA YORK. -El comisionado del Departamento de Transporte de la ciudad de Nueva York (NYC DOT), Ydanis Rodr\u00edguez, en coordinaci\u00f3n del comisionado de la oficina del alcalde para Asuntos Internacionales, Edward Mermelstein y el comisionado de Asuntos para Inmigrantes, Manuel Castro, acompa\u00f1ados por el c\u00f3nsul General de la Rep\u00fablica Dominicana, Eligio J\u00e1quez y otros c\u00f3nsules y representantes de las Am\u00e9ricas, celebraron la finalizaci\u00f3n de la instalaci\u00f3n de nuevos medallones de postes de luz que representan las naciones y territorios a lo largo de la Avenida de las Am\u00e9ricas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEn el d\u00eda de hoy, esta distinci\u00f3n que ha tenido el departamento de Transporte de la ciudad de New York, con todas nuestras naciones hispanas, es un reconocimiento que nosotros de coraz\u00f3n, agradecemos, en nombre de Rep\u00fablica Dominica; y yo creo, sin equivocaci\u00f3n, que hablo en nombre de todos los pa\u00edses hispanos que se han establecido aqu\u00ed. Much\u00edsimas gracias a la alcald\u00eda y al Departamento de Transporte en la persona del comisionado Rodriguez y el alcalde Adams \u201c, expres\u00f3 el ingeniero J\u00e1quez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instalado hace m\u00e1s de 60 a\u00f1os como s\u00edmbolo de esperanza y unidad en el hemisferio, los medallones se hab\u00edan deteriorado y a principios de 2023 solo quedaban 18 originales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Crear se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n nueva, segura y actualizada a lo largo de la Sexta Avenida para honrar a las 43 naciones y territorios fue una prioridad de la administraci\u00f3n y del Departamento de Transporte de la ciudad de Nueva York.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHoy anunciamos la restauraci\u00f3n total y el reemplazo de los medallones nacionales a lo largo de la Avenida de las Am\u00e9ricas. Los medallones, que representan los emblemas de 43 naciones y territorios del hemisferio occidental, ahora adornan la Sexta avenida entre las calles Canal y 59\u201d, expresaron los funcionarios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c Instalados originalmente en 1959, a principios de a\u00f1o solo quedaban 18 de los medallones originales a lo largo del corredor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El departamento de transporte complet\u00f3 las instalaciones el mes pasado y el evento de hoy se llev\u00f3 a cabo en el corredor directamente al norte de la calle Canal en la Plaza Juan Pablo Duarte, que rinde homenaje al principal padre y fundador de la Rep\u00fablica Dominicana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cCon la instalaci\u00f3n de estos medallones a lo largo del corredor de la Sexta Avenida, honramos y celebramos la historia de inmigrantes que es la ciudad de Nueva York\u00bb, dijo el comisionado Ydanis Rodr\u00edguez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLas contribuciones combinadas de los inmigrantes de estas tierras a Nueva York han hecho de Nueva York una ciudad tan diversa y atractiva por su cultura, por su comida, por su vecindario y por su inclusi\u00f3n. ;Hoy se marca un hito hist\u00f3rico en el coraz\u00f3n de la ciudad de Nueva York, ya que se completa la restauraci\u00f3n de los medallones nacionales. Estos medallones son recordatorios permanentes de la conexi\u00f3n de nuestra ciudad con el mundo\u201d. dijo Edward Mermelstein, comisionado de la Oficina de Asuntos Internacionales del alcalde de Nueva York.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMi oficina est\u00e1 orgullosa de haberse asociado con nuestras agencias hermanas en este proyecto. Agradecemos al alcalde Adams por su liderazgo y visi\u00f3n para la ciudad de Nueva York que llevaron a momentos como el de hoy.
