Tambi\u00e9n las at\u00f3, asfixi\u00f3 e intent\u00f3 empujarlas por la ventana.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Johnathan Wright fue sentenciado tras ser hallado culpable de pasar horas golpeando y torturando a dos mujeres con una plancha caliente en una habitaci\u00f3n de hotel en Ronkonkoma, Long Island (NY).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEl 21 de julio de 2021 Wright se enfureci\u00f3 con las mujeres porque se quedaron dormidas mientras le daban un masaje en la espalda\u201d, acusaron los fiscales, seg\u00fan un comunicado. \u201cWright comenz\u00f3 a asfixiar y golpear a las mujeres en la cara y el cuerpo e intent\u00f3 empujarlas por la ventana del hotel. Luego les orden\u00f3 que se desnudaran y procedi\u00f3 a atarlas con un cintur\u00f3n\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Una de las v\u00edctimas padec\u00eda una discapacidad mental, seg\u00fan la fiscal\u00eda. \u201cMientras las mujeres estaban atadas, Wright tom\u00f3 una plancha de ropa del ba\u00f1o del hotel, la enchuf\u00f3 y comenz\u00f3 a sostener la plancha caliente contra su piel, quem\u00e1ndolas repetidamente por todo el cuerpo\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWright advirti\u00f3 a las mujeres que no gritaran y amenaz\u00f3 con que las quemaduras empeorar\u00edan si hac\u00edan ruido\u201d. El asalto dur\u00f3 \u201cde tres a cuatro horas\u201d antes de que Wright se quedara dormido en la cama del hotel despu\u00e9s de ordenar a sus v\u00edctimas que se ducharan. M\u00e1s tarde amenaz\u00f3 a las mujeres para que no buscaran ayuda m\u00e9dica ni contactaran a las autoridades. Pero una madre de las v\u00edctimas s\u00ed lo hizo, al notar las heridas en su hija.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despu\u00e9s de su arresto, el hombre de Lindenhurst us\u00f3 un tel\u00e9fono de la c\u00e1rcel para amenazar repetidamente a sus v\u00edctimas y sus familias entre agosto de 2021 y febrero de 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El 28 de marzo de este a\u00f1o un jurado conden\u00f3 a Wright por 46 cargos, entre ellos agresi\u00f3n, poner en peligro el bienestar de una persona incompetente o f\u00edsicamente discapacitada, manipulaci\u00f3n de testigos y desacato criminal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHoy se ha hecho justicia, pero nuestro apoyo a estas v\u00edctimas no termina aqu\u00ed\u201d, dijo el martes el fiscal de distrito Raymond Tierney. \u201cSeguiremos defendiendo sus derechos, proporcion\u00e1ndoles los recursos que necesitan y garantizando que sus voces sean escuchadas\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En un caso similar, en diciembre Jonathan \u201cEl Don\u201d Huertas, presunto narcotraficante arrestado en M\u00e9xico y extraditado a Nueva York, fue acusado de cometer atrocidades incluyendo secuestro y tortura a al menos a dos de sus rivales usando una plancha de ropa caliente para quemarles la piel, dijeron los fiscales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A fines de 2021 la fiscal distrital de Queens (NYC), Melinda Katz, alert\u00f3 que gran parte de la actividad de tr\u00e1fico sexual ocurre cerca de los centros de transporte, incluyendo aeropuertos.
