Fuentes policiales dijeron a ABC News que la madre de 29 a\u00f1os y el padre de 43 estaban fuera con su beb\u00e9 de 8 meses durante el feriado del 4 de julio y al regresar a casa hallaron que su hijo de 8 a\u00f1os hab\u00eda sido atacado por su medio hermano adulto con un cuchillo de carnicero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Luego la madre sali\u00f3 del edificio, ubicado en 147-25 94th Ave, sangrando por la espalda y suplicando ayuda, alrededor de las 5:20 p.m. del jueves. Los oficiales llegaron al lugar en cuesti\u00f3n de minutos, ingresaron y acudieron a un apartamento del 5to piso. Ah\u00ed encontraron al joven de 20 a\u00f1os quien, seg\u00fan la polic\u00eda, estaba sujetando a su padre agarrando su cabeza y sosteniendo un cuchillo en su garganta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los agentes le ordenaron repetidamente en ingl\u00e9s y espa\u00f1ol que soltara el cuchillo, pero no cumpli\u00f3, afirm\u00f3 John Chell, jefe de patrulla de NYPD, citado por PIX11 News. Luego, un oficial de 28 a\u00f1os dispar\u00f3 una sola bala, alcanzando al sospechoso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dos agentes llevaron al ni\u00f1o herido al hospital porque la ambulancia tardaba demasiado, pero no lleg\u00f3 a tiempo y muri\u00f3 en el camino. El sospechoso tambi\u00e9n fue trasladado a un hospital, donde luego falleci\u00f3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los padres del ni\u00f1o fueron hospitalizados por sus heridas. Hubo 4,493 casos en 2023 hasta principios de diciembre, un aumento de 6% frente al mismo per\u00edodo de 2022. En paralelo los arrestos por delitos de arma blanca aumentaron casi 30%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Un reporte previo de NYPD alert\u00f3 en agosto pasado que los apu\u00f1alamientos mortales hab\u00edan subido 29% ese a\u00f1o en la ciudad en comparaci\u00f3n con antes de la pandemia (2019).
