El rey Carlos III lo ha nombrado formalmente como jefe de Gobierno en el Palacio de Buckingham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En su primer discurso ante la naci\u00f3n desde el 10 de Downing Street, Starmer ha prometido que su Gobierno servir\u00e1 a todos los brit\u00e1nicos y declarado que el pa\u00eds necesita \u00abun reinicio mayor\u00bb. \u00abA partir de ahora tienen un gobierno no agobiado por doctrinas, guiado solamente por la determinaci\u00f3n de servir a sus intereses\u00bb, afirm\u00f3, destacando que una la de las fortalezas m\u00e1s importantes de la naci\u00f3n brit\u00e1nica es su \u00abcapacidad de navegar su camino hacia aguas m\u00e1s tranquilas\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abSin embargo, esto depende de que los pol\u00edticos, especialmente los que defienden la estabilidad y la moderaci\u00f3n, como yo hago, reconozcan cu\u00e1ndo debemos cambiar de rumbo\u00bb, matiz\u00f3, al indicar que se llevaba demasiado tiempo haciendo la vista gorda \u00abmientras millones de personas se deslizaban hacia una mayor inseguridad\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El Partido Laborista, con 412 esca\u00f1os, ha logrado en las elecciones generales anticipadas la mayor\u00eda absoluta en la C\u00e1mara de los Comunes, mientras que el Partido Conservador ha conseguido 121 esca\u00f1os, seguido del Liberal Dem\u00f3crata, con 71. El Partido Nacional Escoc\u00e9s (SNP) y el partido irland\u00e9s Sinn F\u00e9in han conseguido 9 y 7 esca\u00f1os, respectivamente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rishi Sunak ha aceptado su derrota y presentado su dimisi\u00f3n, anunciando tambi\u00e9n que dimitir\u00e1 como l\u00edder de los &#8216;tories&#8217;. \u00abEs un d\u00eda dif\u00edcil, pero dejo este trabajo honrado de haber sido primer ministro del mejor pa\u00eds del mundo\u00bb, declar\u00f3 en su discurso de despedida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En su primer d\u00eda en el cargo, Starmer design\u00f3 a los laboristas John Healey como ministro de Defensa, a David Lammy como ministro de Exteriores y a Yvette Cooper como ministra del Interior, mientras que Rachel Reeves se convirti\u00f3 en la primera mujer en encabezar la cartera de Econom\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Las elecciones a la C\u00e1mara de los Comunes estaban inicialmente previstas para finales de enero de 2025, sin embargo, se llevaron a cabo de manera anticipada despu\u00e9s de que Rishi Sunak decidiera disolver el Parlamento tras acordarlo con el rey Carlos III en mayo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Durante la jornada electoral, los votantes brit\u00e1nicos eligieron a 650 miembros de la C\u00e1mara de los Comunes, uno por cada distrito electoral local.
