Damos gracias a Dios y a todos los que me han apoyado en este proceso y han orado por m\u00ed\u00bb, declar\u00f3 el pastor. El tribunal anunci\u00f3 la absoluci\u00f3n el domingo 30 de junio.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La pareja hab\u00eda sido condenada inicialmente a un a\u00f1o de prisi\u00f3n bajo la ley que proh\u00edbe el culto no musulm\u00e1n, promulgada en Argelia en 2006. Desde entonces, los cristianos han enfrentado presiones, el cierre de lugares de culto y la persecuci\u00f3n de l\u00edderes religiosos. El pastor Ahcene y su esposa sirven en la iglesia Ait-Douala (B\u00e9ni-Douala), en la provincia de Tizi Ouzou, en el norte de Argelia. La polic\u00eda comenz\u00f3 a vigilarlos e intimidarlos en noviembre de 2021. \u00abMe exigieron que obtuviera un permiso para practicar el cristianismo y me amenazaron con detenerme si segu\u00eda celebrando cultos sin autorizaci\u00f3n\u00bb, recuerda el pastor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seg\u00fan Puertas Abiertas, la iglesia Ait-Douala est\u00e1 afiliada a la Asociaci\u00f3n de Iglesias Protestantes de Argelia y ha operado en la regi\u00f3n durante diez a\u00f1os sin problemas con las autoridades. Sin embargo, las recientes presiones obligaron a la pareja a cerrar la iglesia en abril del a\u00f1o pasado. A pesar del cierre, las autoridades continuaron persigui\u00e9ndolos y fueron acusados injustamente de practicar la religi\u00f3n no isl\u00e1mica sin autorizaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Otros seis cristianos, el pastor Youcef Ourahmane y cinco miembros de la iglesia Tizi Ghenif, tambi\u00e9n enfrentan la misma acusaci\u00f3n y est\u00e1n a la espera de la decisi\u00f3n del Tribunal Supremo. La presencia cristiana, que existe en Argelia desde el siglo IV, est\u00e1 cada d\u00eda m\u00e1s amenazada. Desde lo alto de una monta\u00f1a, se puede ver el bautisterio de 58 metros de largo y 42 de ancho en las ruinas de una de las grandes iglesias hist\u00f3ricas de la regi\u00f3n. Este bautisterio es la mayor construcci\u00f3n excavada en Argelia y representa la situaci\u00f3n de la comunidad cristiana en el pa\u00eds y en otras partes del norte de \u00c1frica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Puertas Abiertas informa que muchos cristianos argelinos visitan este lugar para reconectarse con la tradici\u00f3n cristiana. A pesar de las invasiones \u00e1rabes que hicieron que esta cultura se perdiera, en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os, incluso en medio de la persecuci\u00f3n, la iglesia ha continuado creciendo, contando actualmente con una comunidad de miles de seguidores de Jes\u00fas.
