{"id":59098,"date":"2024-07-20T21:22:34","date_gmt":"2024-07-21T01:22:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/romanticany.com\/?p=59098"},"modified":"2024-07-20T21:22:34","modified_gmt":"2024-07-21T01:22:34","slug":"haiti-barco-con-migrantes-se-incendia-hay-40-muertos-y-varios-heridos-graves","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/romanticany.com\/?p=59098","title":{"rendered":"Hait\u00ed: barco con migrantes se incendia, hay 40 muertos y varios heridos graves"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>La embarcaci\u00f3n sali\u00f3 de Cabo Haitiano y se dirig\u00eda a Providenciales (Islas Turcas y Caicos) cuando un pasajero encendi\u00f3 una vela.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Al menos 40 migrantes murieron y varios m\u00e1s resultaron heridos tras incendiarse la embarcaci\u00f3n en la que viajaban frente a la costa de Cabo Haitiano, en el norte de Hait\u00ed, inform\u00f3 este viernes la Organizaci\u00f3n Internacional para las Migraciones (OIM) en un comunicado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El barco, en el que viajaban m\u00e1s de 80 personas, parti\u00f3 el mi\u00e9rcoles de Labadee rumbo a las Islas Turcas y Caicos, un territorio brit\u00e1nico de ultramar situado unos 250 kil\u00f3metros al norte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La Guardia Costera de Hait\u00ed rescat\u00f3 a 41 personas de la embarcaci\u00f3n, de las cuales 11 fueron hospitalizadas. Siete personas est\u00e1n gravemente heridas, precis\u00f3 un portavoz de la polic\u00eda haitiana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Varios supervivientes contaron que el fuego se hab\u00eda propagado despu\u00e9s de que un pasajero encendiera una vela para realizar una ceremonia de vud\u00fa, a pesar de que hab\u00eda gasolina a bordo, indic\u00f3 esa fuente policial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En ocasiones los haitianos que emprenden traves\u00edas en alta mar realizan estas ceremonias porque creen que les traer\u00e1n protecci\u00f3n y les permitir\u00e1n evitar a la guardia costera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abEste devastador suceso resalta los riesgos que afrontan ni\u00f1os, mujeres y hombres que migran por rutas irregulares y muestra la necesidad crucial de v\u00edas legales y seguras para la migraci\u00f3n\u00bb, declar\u00f3 en el comunicado Gr\u00e9goire Goodstein, jefe de misi\u00f3n de la OIM en Hait\u00ed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abLa situaci\u00f3n socioecon\u00f3mica de Hait\u00ed es ag\u00f3nica. La violencia extrema de los \u00faltimos meses s\u00f3lo ha llevado a los haitianos a tomar a\u00fan m\u00e1s medidas desesperadas\u00bb, a\u00f1adi\u00f3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hait\u00ed, el pa\u00eds m\u00e1s pobre de Am\u00e9rica, sufre desde hace tiempo el azote de bandas criminales armadas que controlan el 80% de la capital, Puerto Pr\u00edncipe, y las principales carreteras nacionales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Varias de esas pandillas, acusadas de asesinatos, saqueos, violaciones y secuestros, se aliaron en febrero para echarle un pulso al entonces primer ministro Ariel Henry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En su ofensiva atacaron c\u00e1rceles, comisar\u00edas, edificios p\u00fablicos y el aeropuerto, adem\u00e1s de barrios residenciales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tras la dimisi\u00f3n forzada del controvertido dirigente, unas nuevas autoridades asumieron el poder de transici\u00f3n con la dif\u00edcil tarea de restablecer la seguridad y frenar la grave crisis humanitaria del pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abLa falta de oportunidades econ\u00f3micas, el colapso del sistema sanitario, el cierre de escuelas y la ausencia de perspectivas empujan a muchos a considerar la migraci\u00f3n como \u00fanica forma de sobrevivir\u00bb, alert\u00f3 el comunicado de la OIM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seg\u00fan esta organizaci\u00f3n de la ONU, la Guardia Costera haitiana ha observado un creciente n\u00famero de intentos de salidas en barco hacia el norte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Este a\u00f1o, los pa\u00edses vecinos han devuelto forzosamente a m\u00e1s de 86.000 migrantes a Hait\u00ed, indica la OIM, que se muestra preocupada por su regreso en \u00abeste periodo de disturbios e incertidumbre\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El nuevo gobierno de Hait\u00ed ha anunciado el inicio inminente de operaciones policiales contra las pandillas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Las fuerzas nacionales contar\u00e1n con el apoyo de 400 polic\u00edas de Kenia, llegados a Puerto Pr\u00edncipe en el marco de una misi\u00f3n multinacional de seguridad apoyada por la ONU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Diario Libre<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>La embarcaci\u00f3n sali\u00f3 de Cabo Haitiano y se dirig\u00eda a Providenciales (Islas Turcas y Caicos) cuando un pasajero encendi\u00f3 una vela.
