En su auto iba un ni\u00f1o.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c1ngel Mel\u00e9ndez, conductor de 51 a\u00f1os, enfrenta varios cargos despu\u00e9s de que supuestamente se salt\u00f3 un sem\u00e1foro en rojo y atropell\u00f3 fatalmente a un hombre en East Harlem, Manhattan (NYC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mel\u00e9ndez est\u00e1 acusado de homicidio involuntario, homicidio por negligencia criminal, actuar de manera perjudicial para un menor y peligro imprudente, destac\u00f3 ABC News. Supuestamente poco despu\u00e9s de las 3:40 p.m. del lunes conduc\u00eda un Mercedes Benz 2007 en direcci\u00f3n norte por 1st Av a gran velocidad, salt\u00e1ndose un sem\u00e1foro en rojo mientras cambiaba de carril de derecha a izquierda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cuando cruz\u00f3 East 105th Street su Mercedes se mont\u00f3 en una isla de concreto y choc\u00f3 contra una motocicleta Suzuki modelo 2003. Luego impact\u00f3 un Chevrolet Tahoe 2009 estacionado, lo que golpe\u00f3 a Najari Reid y a otro hombre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reid, de 51 a\u00f1os, fue declarado muerto en el hospital. El \u00faltimo fue en marzo de 2022, cuando supuestamente arroj\u00f3 a un compa\u00f1ero de trabajo de 66 a\u00f1os al suelo de un ascensor y le dio varios pu\u00f1etazos durante una disputa verbal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La investigaci\u00f3n del accidente del lunes est\u00e1 en curso. Ir\u00f3nicamente apenas horas antes la gobernadora Kathy Hochul hab\u00eda firmado la llamada Sammy\u2019s Law que reduce el l\u00edmite de velocidad a 20 mph e incluso 10 mph en algunas calles de los cinco condados de NYC para proteger a los peatones.
