El director general de la OMS, <strong>Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus<\/strong>, destac\u00f3 que la detecci\u00f3n del <strong>primer caso de la variante clade 1b en Suecia<\/strong> subraya la urgencia de que los pa\u00edses afectados <strong>trabajen juntos<\/strong> para comprender mejor su transmisi\u00f3n y compartir recursos, incluyendo <strong>vacunas y datos epidemiol\u00f3gicos<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aunque la OMS pidi\u00f3 <strong>evitar el p\u00e1nico<\/strong>, la portavoz <strong>Margaret Harris<\/strong> aclar\u00f3 que el contagio no ocurre por contacto casual, como dar la mano, sino a trav\u00e9s de <strong>interacciones cercanas<\/strong>, como el contacto directo con lesiones cut\u00e1neas, fluidos corporales o materiales contaminados (s\u00e1banas, ropa). <em>\u00abEl virus se transmite en entornos dom\u00e9sticos, de madres a hijos, por relaciones sexuales o contacto prolongado con superficies infectadas\u00bb<\/em>, explic\u00f3 Harris, quien recalc\u00f3 que el riesgo aumenta cuando las <strong>ampollas son visibles y contienen fluido<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mientras Europa enfrenta el primer caso de esta nueva variante, <strong>Pakist\u00e1n confirm\u00f3 su primer caso de mpox en Asia<\/strong>, vinculado a un paciente que regres\u00f3 de un pa\u00eds del Golfo. Las autoridades paquistan\u00edes enviaron muestras de otros dos posibles casos a los laboratorios nacionales para confirmaci\u00f3n, lo que refleja la <strong>expansi\u00f3n global del virus<\/strong>.
