Su nombramiento marca el inicio de una nueva etapa en su carrera pol\u00edtica, tras suceder al ingeniero Eligio J\u00e1quez, quien desempe\u00f1\u00f3 este papel durante el primer mandato del presidente Luis Abinader y ahora asesora directamente al presidente desde el Palacio Nacional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Durante su mandato como ministro de Interior y Polic\u00eda, V\u00e1squez enfatiz\u00f3 que su gesti\u00f3n se centr\u00f3 en la implementaci\u00f3n de reformas significativas en la seguridad ciudadana, con el objetivo de restaurar la paz y la tranquilidad en la Rep\u00fablica Dominicana. V\u00e1squez lider\u00f3 la creaci\u00f3n de la estrategia \u00abPa\u00eds Seguro\u00bb, dise\u00f1ada con la asesor\u00eda de expertos nacionales e internacionales en seguridad p\u00fablica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/romanticany.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/WhatsApp-Image-2024-09-01-at-1.17.57-AM-1024x684.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-61828\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Uno de sus logros m\u00e1s destacados fue la reforma integral de la Polic\u00eda Nacional, con un enfoque en la mejora salarial y las condiciones laborales de sus miembros. Durante su mandato, logr\u00f3 aumentar el salario m\u00ednimo de los polic\u00edas de $10,000 a $29,000 pesos, adem\u00e1s de introducir beneficios como seguro m\u00e9dico de alta calidad, transporte gratuito, becas educativas, descuentos en supermercados y farmacias, y facilidades de pr\u00e9stamos para vivienda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>V\u00e1squez tambi\u00e9n implement\u00f3 mejoras significativas para los bomberos del pa\u00eds, aumentando su salario m\u00ednimo de $1,000 a $15,000 pesos y otorg\u00e1ndoles seguros de salud y de accidentes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En su nuevo papel como C\u00f3nsul General en Nueva York, V\u00e1squez expresa que esta designaci\u00f3n le brinda una oportunidad de tomar un merecido descanso tras a\u00f1os de intensa actividad pol\u00edtica. Se compromete a servir a la comunidad dominicana en el exterior y a continuar promoviendo las pol\u00edticas del gobierno dominicano desde su nuevo puesto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El acto de juramentaci\u00f3n, realizado en el sal\u00f3n principal del Consulado, cont\u00f3 con la presencia de su esposa, Divina de V\u00e1squez, y sus hijos, Mar\u00eda Elena y Jes\u00fas Staling V\u00e1squez. Entre los invitados especiales se encontraron el comisionado de transporte de Nueva York, Ydanis Rodr\u00edguez, el activista comunitario George \u00c1lvarez, y el reconocido baloncestista dominicano Al Horford.
