La noticia se produjo pocas horas despu\u00e9s de que su m\u00e9dico de cabecera, Alejandro Aguinaga, informara que Fujimori estaba \u201cluchando\u201d por su salud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDespu\u00e9s de una larga batalla contra el c\u00e1ncer, nuestro padre, Alberto Fujimori, acaba de partir al encuentro del Se\u00f1or. Pedimos a quienes lo amaron que nos acompa\u00f1en con una oraci\u00f3n por el eterno descanso de su alma\u201d, escribi\u00f3 Keiko Fujimori.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fujimori, una figura polarizadora en la pol\u00edtica peruana, gobern\u00f3 el pa\u00eds entre 1990 y 2000. Su administraci\u00f3n fue marcada por la estabilidad econ\u00f3mica y la lucha contra el terrorismo, pero tambi\u00e9n estuvo plagada de acusaciones de violaciones de derechos humanos y corrupci\u00f3n. En 2007, fue condenado a 25 a\u00f1os de prisi\u00f3n por homicidio calificado y lesiones en los casos Barrios Altos y La Cantuta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En diciembre de 2023, Fujimori sali\u00f3 de prisi\u00f3n tras una orden del Tribunal Constitucional de Per\u00fa que restitu\u00eda los efectos del indulto humanitario que recibi\u00f3 en 2017. Su liberaci\u00f3n gener\u00f3 controversia, ya que se argument\u00f3 que la decisi\u00f3n estaba vinculada a su deterioro de salud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A principios de 2024, Keiko Fujimori revel\u00f3 que su padre aspiraba a ser nuevamente candidato presidencial, aunque su \u00faltimo intento por retomar el poder no lleg\u00f3 a concretarse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>De outsider pol\u00edtico a figura controvertida<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alberto Fujimori naci\u00f3 en Per\u00fa de padres inmigrantes japoneses y estudi\u00f3 en Estados Unidos y Francia antes de regresar al pa\u00eds para iniciar su carrera pol\u00edtica. En 1989, lanz\u00f3 su candidatura presidencial con el partido Cambio 90, derrotando al escritor Mario Vargas Llosa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Durante su primer mandato, Fujimori implement\u00f3 pol\u00edticas econ\u00f3micas de austeridad y tuvo \u00e9xito en la lucha contra el grupo guerrillero Sendero Luminoso. Sin embargo, su gobierno pronto enfrent\u00f3 acusaciones de corrupci\u00f3n y abuso de poder. En 2000, el esc\u00e1ndalo de los videos de sobornos, protagonizado por su jefe de inteligencia Vladimiro Montesinos, condujo al colapso de su administraci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fujimori se refugi\u00f3 en Jap\u00f3n y luego fue arrestado en Chile en 2005, siendo extraditado a Per\u00fa para enfrentar cargos de violaciones de derechos humanos y corrupci\u00f3n. En 2009, fue condenado a 25 a\u00f1os de prisi\u00f3n. A pesar de sus condenas, mantuvo que sus acciones estaban motivadas por el bien del pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El indulto que recibi\u00f3 en 2017 gener\u00f3 intensas protestas y fue posteriormente anulado, aunque en 2022 el Tribunal Constitucional de Per\u00fa restableci\u00f3 los efectos del indulto. Sin embargo, la Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos solicit\u00f3 al Estado peruano abstenerse de implementar la sentencia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A pesar de sus m\u00faltiples condenas y el legado controversial, Fujimori se mantuvo firme en su posici\u00f3n de que sus acciones fueron en beneficio del Per\u00fa.
