El Centro de Operaciones de Emergencia (COE) ha activado el protocolo de \u00abalerta de tsunami\u00bb y emitido una alerta amarilla para todas las costas del pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abEl tsunami podr\u00eda afectar a todas las comunidades costeras de la Rep\u00fablica Dominicana\u00bb, advirti\u00f3 Indomet en un comunicado oficial. \u00abEn un bolet\u00edn siguiente se estar\u00e1 validando esta informaci\u00f3n\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El organismo meteorol\u00f3gico ha recomendado movilizar a la poblaci\u00f3n lejos de las zonas costeras hacia localidades altas, por encima de los 20 metros de altura o 2 kil\u00f3metros tierra adentro. Tambi\u00e9n ha instado a las peque\u00f1as y medianas embarcaciones a abstenerse de zarpar durante las siguientes horas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abEl tsunami puede generar fuertes corrientes oce\u00e1nicas\u00bb, avis\u00f3 Indomet, e inst\u00f3 a las personas a alejarse de r\u00edos y lagunas costeras, ya que las olas del tsunami \u00abpueden penetrar tierra adentro\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El sismo ocurri\u00f3 a unos 209 kil\u00f3metros de la costa de las Islas Caim\u00e1n y gener\u00f3 alertas de tsunami en varios pa\u00edses de la regi\u00f3n, seg\u00fan informaron las agencias de monitoreo de Estados Unidos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abPeligrosas olas de tsunami\u00bb provocadas por el terremoto son posibles en unos 997 km desde el epicentro a lo largo de las costas de las Islas Caim\u00e1n, Jamaica, Cuba, M\u00e9xico, Honduras, Bahamas, Belice, Hait\u00ed, Costa Rica, Panam\u00e1, Nicaragua y Guatemala, inform\u00f3 el Centro de Alerta de Tsunamis del Pac\u00edfico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El COE ha activado el protocolo de \u00abalerta de tsunami\u00bb y emitido una alerta amarilla para todas las costas del pa\u00eds. \u00abNo deben usar las playas en estos momentos\u00bb, dijo el director del COE, mayor general Juan Manuel M\u00e9ndez. \u00abLa Armada de la Rep\u00fablica Dominicana queda solidariamente responsable de activar sus protocolos para estos fines\u00bb.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>El Instituto Dominicano de Meteorolog\u00eda (Indomet) ha emitido una alerta de tsunami para las costas de Rep\u00fablica Dominicana tras un sismo de magnitud 7.6 que sacudi\u00f3 el mar Caribe durante la noche.
