Las provincias de Santiago y Santo Domingo son las m\u00e1s afectadas, con once muertes maternas cada una, lo que equivale al 16% del total en cada provincia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La Altagracia registr\u00f3 nueve muertes maternas, el Distrito Nacional cinco, y La Romana junto con La Vega cuatro cada una. San Crist\u00f3bal, San Juan y Monte Cristi reportaron tres casos cada una. En t\u00e9rminos de nacionalidad, el 53% de las muertes maternas correspondieron a madres dominicanas, mientras que el 47% fueron madres haitianas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En cuanto a las muertes infantiles, se notificaron 27 casos en la semana epidemiol\u00f3gica n\u00famero veinte, de los cuales 19 fueron ni\u00f1os y ocho ni\u00f1as. De estos, 24 eran dominicanos y tres haitianos. Desde la semana uno hasta la semana veinte, se registraron 668 casos, lo que refleja una reducci\u00f3n del 21% en comparaci\u00f3n con el a\u00f1o anterior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seg\u00fan la OMS, en 2020 se registraron aproximadamente 287,000 muertes maternas a nivel mundial, lo que equivale a una mujer fallecida cada dos minutos debido a complicaciones relacionadas con el embarazo y el parto.
