Gracias a una investigaci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica realizada en las tierras del ingeniero agr\u00edcola Javier Mu\u00f1oz, de 25 a\u00f1os, se logr\u00f3 reducir a la mitad el consumo de agua y mantener una producci\u00f3n similar al m\u00e9todo de inundaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Durante Milenios<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Durante milenios, la humanidad ha inundado los arrozales para eliminar las malezas y evitar plagas, pero la escasez h\u00eddrica ha impulsado una carrera por nuevas t\u00e9cnicas de producci\u00f3n del alimento m\u00e1s consumido del mundo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En la Localidad de \u00d1iqu\u00e9n en la Regi\u00f3n del \u00d1uble<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A 400 kil\u00f3metros al sur de Santiago, el ingeniero agr\u00edcola Javier Mu\u00f1oz, de 25 a\u00f1os, conoci\u00f3 s\u00f3lo la inundaci\u00f3n de los campos para producir el cereal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pero Gracias a una Investigaci\u00f3n Cient\u00edfica<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pero gracias a una investigaci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica realizada en sus tierras, logr\u00f3 reducir a la mitad el consumo de agua y mantener una producci\u00f3n similar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00abEl Cultivo de Arroz Siempore fue Inundado; Lograr Hacer un Cambio tan Profundo es Hist\u00f3rico\u00bb<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

La t\u00e9cnica fue desarrollada por la cient\u00edfica chilena Karla Cordero, del Instituto de Investigaciones Agropecuarias (INIA), quien motivada por la sequ\u00eda que sufro Chile desde hace 15 a\u00f1os -asociada al cambio clim\u00e1tico por las autoridades- desarroll\u00f3 un arroz m\u00e1s fuerte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esta Nueva Variedad<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esta nueva variedad, llamada Jaspe, no es un transg\u00e9nico, sino el resultado del cruce de una semilla chilena y otra de origen ruso, que resiste mejor a climas extremos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cordero Sembr\u00f3 la Nueva Variedad<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cordero sembr\u00f3 la nueva variedad bajo el Sistema de Intensificaci\u00f3n del Cultivo de Arroz (SRI), desarrollado en 1983 en Madagascar por un sacerdote franc\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Este M\u00e9todo Consisti\u00f3 Principalmente en Alternar la Inundaci\u00f3n con el Riego Intermitente<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00abNos dimos cuenta de que era posible producir arroz sin inundar. Y a pesar de usar menos semillas, tener la misma producci\u00f3n que un sistema tradicional\u00bb, explica Cordero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los Resultados Fueron Presentados en el Congreso Mundial del Arroz 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Y tras casi 20 a\u00f1os de experimentos en laboratorios y campos, Jaspe saldr\u00e1 al mercado en unos meses gracias a un acuerdo entre el INIA y una empresa privada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adem\u00e1s, en Coordinaci\u00f3n con el Instituto Interamericano de Cooperaci\u00f3n para la Agricultura<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
