Esta inversi\u00f3n tiene como objetivo convertir al pa\u00eds en un centro log\u00edstico regional y fortalecer la econom\u00eda mar\u00edtima. Durante su participaci\u00f3n en \u00abLA Semanal con la Prensa\u00bb, titulada \u00abDe Frente al Mar\u00bb, el mandatario destac\u00f3 que el Gobierno ha apostado por una transformaci\u00f3n integral del sistema portuario nacional, priorizando la modernizaci\u00f3n, la legalizaci\u00f3n de terrenos, la sostenibilidad de la pesca y la expansi\u00f3n del turismo de cruceros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Abinader resalt\u00f3 que la Autoridad Portuaria Dominicana (APORDOM) ha pasado a ser una instituci\u00f3n financieramente s\u00f3lida, saldando deudas por RD 1,300 millones, duplicando sus ingresos mensuales (de RD 56 millones a RD 140 millones) y generando un excedente anual de RD 250 millones. Adem\u00e1s, el mandatario afirm\u00f3 que continuar\u00e1n invirtiendo en infraestructura, fomentando el crecimiento inclusivo y apoyando a todas las comunidades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En el \u00e1mbito de la modernizaci\u00f3n portuaria, el pa\u00eds ha invertido USD 170 millones, impactando directamente en los puertos de Azua, Barahona, Puerto Plata, Pedernales (Cabo Rojo) y Saman\u00e1, consolidando el posicionamiento de Rep\u00fablica Dominicana como un nodo log\u00edstico regional. Entre los proyectos destacados se encuentran el Muelle Marginal Oeste en Azua, con una inversi\u00f3n de RD 14 millones para mejoras, y la terminal de cruceros de Cabo Rojo, con una inversi\u00f3n de RD 48 millones.
