Al desactivar los genes que producen dicha prote\u00edna, los marcadores qu\u00edmicos que indicaban la presencia de RiPP tambi\u00e9n desaparecieron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los cient\u00edficos lograron purificar cuatro RiPP diferentes y descubrieron que estas mol\u00e9culas compart\u00edan una estructura \u00fanica de anillos entrelazados, a las que llamaron asperigimicinas. Dos de estas asperigimicinas mostraron efectos potentes contra las c\u00e9lulas de leucemia, mientras que otra variante, al a\u00f1adirle un l\u00edpido, funcion\u00f3 de manera similar a la citarabina o la daunorrubicina, f\u00e1rmacos utilizados en el tratamiento del c\u00e1ncer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Qiuyue Nie, la primera autora del art\u00edculo, ha afirmado que el gen que produce estas asperigimicinas act\u00faa como una puerta de entrada, facilitando no solo la entrada de estas mol\u00e9culas a las c\u00e9lulas, sino tambi\u00e9n la de otros p\u00e9ptidos c\u00edclicos. Este descubrimiento proporciona otra herramienta para el desarrollo de f\u00e1rmacos, ya que los l\u00edpidos pueden afectar la forma en que este gen transporta sustancias qu\u00edmicas a las c\u00e9lulas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, los investigadores descubrieron que las asperigimicinas probablemente alteran el proceso de divisi\u00f3n celular, aunque su efecto es espec\u00edfico para ciertos tipos de c\u00e9lulas, lo que es fundamental para el desarrollo de futuros f\u00e1rmacos.
