Aunque Benjamin Franklin descubri\u00f3 la conexi\u00f3n entre el rayo y la electricidad en 1752, los expertos no hab\u00edan comprendido completamente el trayecto desde la nube hasta el suelo hasta ahora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Victor Pasko, profesor de Ingenier\u00eda El\u00e9ctrica de la Universidad Estatal de Pensilvania, afirma: \u00abNuestros hallazgos ofrecen la primera explicaci\u00f3n cuantitativa y precisa de c\u00f3mo se inician los rayos en la naturaleza. Estas reacciones producen radiaci\u00f3n electromagn\u00e9tica, conocida como rayos X, junto con m\u00e1s electrones y fotones de alta energ\u00eda. Este proceso finalmente da lugar a los rayos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Los cient\u00edficos sab\u00edan que los protones ascienden y los electrones descienden hacia el suelo, creando una acumulaci\u00f3n de carga el\u00e9ctrica positiva en el suelo.
