Su personal se ha reducido significativamente, su planta de impresi\u00f3n y oficinas fueron vendidas por 90 millones de d\u00f3lares, y su sala de redacci\u00f3n qued\u00f3 reducida a solo 65 periodistas para cubrir una ciudad de 8,5 millones de habitantes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Como inform\u00f3 previamente The Chief, \u201clos miembros del sindicato del Daily News han intentado presionar a los propietarios del peri\u00f3dico \u2014el gigante de capital privado Alden Global Capital\u2014 para detener los recortes y llegar a un contrato mediante diversos m\u00e9todos, incluyendo una breve huelga, la presentaci\u00f3n de denuncias laborales federales, peticiones y otras acciones\u201d.
