Ministro de Deportes y Recreaci\u00f3n Kelvin Cruz dejo inaugurado este viernes los Juegos Deportivos Juan Pablo Duarte en esta cuidad, evento que se extender\u00e1 hasta el 31 de este mes y que definen como la cita deportiva m\u00e1s importante de la comunidad dominicana en el exterior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La energ\u00eda y entusiasmo se vivi\u00f3 desde el inicio de la ceremonia inaugural desarrollada en el recinto de la Universidad Lehman College de El Bronx, acto encabezado por del ministro de Deportes y Recreaci\u00f3n de la Rep\u00fablica Domincana, Kelvin Cruz, el c\u00f3nsul General Jes\u00fas V\u00e1zquez Martinez, el asamble\u00edsta por el distrito 78 George \u00c1lvarez, dirigentes deportivos, entrenadores, familias y miembros de la comunidad.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Organizado por el Miderec, con el respaldo de la Uni\u00f3n Deportiva Dominicana de Nueva York, el certamen re\u00fane a delegaciones de ciudades como Rhode Island, Lawrence y Boston, que compiten en 21 disciplinas deportivas, adem\u00e1s de actividades de arte, cultura y medicina deportiva.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Entre las novedades de esta edici\u00f3n se destaca la participaci\u00f3n r\u00e9cord de 12 equipos en el torneo de softbol femenino, un hito que consolida el crecimiento de esta disciplina en la comunidad dominicana en el exterior.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El evento est\u00e1 dedicado a Nurys D\u2019 \u00d3leo y Luis\u00edn Mej\u00eda Oviedo, presidente de Centro Caribe Sports.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cruz resalt\u00f3 que el nombre de los juegos honra al padre de la patria: \u201cPatria puede tener cualquier pa\u00eds, pero Juan Pablo Duarte s\u00f3lo lo tiene Rep\u00fablica Dominicana\u201d,expres\u00f3 el funcionario.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La antorcha de los juegos inici\u00f3 su recorrido en Manhattan y ha pasado por Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island, Long Island y El Bronx, para unir esas comunidades bajo un mensaje de unidad, identidad y esperanza.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El c\u00f3nsul dominicano en Nueva York, Jes\u00fas (Ch\u00fa) V\u00e1squez, subray\u00f3 el respaldo del Gobierno dominicano para fortalecer los lazos entre la patria y su comunidad en el exterior, mientras que el presidente de la Uni\u00f3n Deportiva Dominicana en Nueva York, Evaristo Madrigal, el director general Roberto Rojas y el t\u00e9cnico Pedro Pablo P\u00e9rez, garantizaron que esta edici\u00f3n contar\u00e1 con la organizaci\u00f3n, seguridad y calidad que merece el p\u00fablico.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Las competencias se desarrollar\u00e1n en diversos escenarios deportivos de Nueva York y culminar\u00e1n el 31 de agosto, con la premiaci\u00f3n de los atletas y equipos m\u00e1s
