NUEVA YORK. \u2013 El asamble\u00edsta del Estado de Nueva York por el distrito 78, George \u00c1lvarez, realiz\u00f3 una celebraci\u00f3n especial de entrega de mochilas y \u00fatiles escolares con el objetivo de apoyar a las familias del Bronx y motivar a los estudiantes a iniciar con \u00e9xito el nuevo a\u00f1o escolar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEste concepto de respaldar a nuestros estudiantes con la entrega de \u00fatiles inici\u00f3 hace ya unos a\u00f1os, desde antes de ocupar la honorable posici\u00f3n de representar mi distrito en Albany\u201d, expres\u00f3 el asamble\u00edsta \u00c1lvarez. \u201cHoy lo hicimos con m\u00e1s fuerza y m\u00e1s aliados, porque invertir en la educaci\u00f3n de nuestros ni\u00f1os es invertir en el futuro de nuestra comunidad\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La actividad, ya una tradici\u00f3n, se llev\u00f3 a cabo este s\u00e1bado en Poe Park (Grand Concourse entre E. 192 St. y E. Kingsbridge Rd, Bronx, NY 10458).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El evento form\u00f3 parte del programa tradicional de regreso a clases que organiza \u00c1lvarez junto a un amplio grupo de l\u00edderes electos y organizaciones comunitarias, en una colaboraci\u00f3n que busc\u00f3 garantizar que todos los ni\u00f1os y j\u00f3venes tuvieran las herramientas necesarias para aprender y crecer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El evento cont\u00f3 con la participaci\u00f3n de destacados l\u00edderes electos, entre ellos el congresista Adriano Espaillat, el concejal Oswald Feliz y el senador estatal Gustavo Rivera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adem\u00e1s de la entrega gratuita de mochilas y \u00fatiles escolares, las familias disfrutaron de actividades recreativas, m\u00fasica, entretenimiento y orientaci\u00f3n sobre recursos comunitarios. La jornada incluy\u00f3 la colaboraci\u00f3n de entidades como SBH Health System, NAICA, Literacy in Community (LINC), New York Botanical Garden (NYBG), NYC Parks, AT&T, Hispanic Federation, Montefiore, Part of the Solution (POTS), Affinity by Molina Healthcare y Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New York.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNuestro compromiso va m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de entregar una mochila. Queremos que cada estudiante se sienta apoyado, valorado y motivado a dar lo mejor de s\u00ed en el nuevo ciclo escolar. Esto fue un esfuerzo colectivo para inspirar sue\u00f1os y abrir puertas de oportunidad\u201d, agreg\u00f3 \u00c1lvarez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El asamble\u00edsta \u00c1lvarez resalt\u00f3 que la iniciativa busc\u00f3 aliviar la carga econ\u00f3mica que enfrentan muchas familias al inicio del a\u00f1o escolar y, al mismo tiempo, reforzar la importancia de la educaci\u00f3n como motor de progreso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La actividad cont\u00f3 con el respaldo de voluntarios, personal de las organizaciones participantes y l\u00edderes comunitarios que estuvieron disponibles para orientar a los padres sobre programas educativos, servicios de salud y actividades extracurriculares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c1lvarez invit\u00f3 a las familias del Bronx a participar masivamente y a compartir un momento de uni\u00f3n y celebraci\u00f3n en v\u00edsperas del nuevo a\u00f1o acad\u00e9mico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
