Este proyecto, negociado con <strong>Central Romana Corporation<\/strong>, busca posicionar a Santo Domingo como un <strong>destino l\u00edder para eventos internacionales<\/strong>, ferias comerciales y exposiciones de alto nivel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Durante una rueda de prensa en el <strong>Palacio Nacional<\/strong>, Abinader destac\u00f3 que este centro no solo ser\u00e1 un espacio para convenciones, sino tambi\u00e9n un <strong>punto de exposici\u00f3n para productos dominicanos<\/strong>, permitiendo al pa\u00eds mostrar su potencial comercial y cultural ante el mundo. \u00abEste proyecto es una pieza clave para el desarrollo tur\u00edstico y econ\u00f3mico de Santo Domingo\u00bb, declar\u00f3 el mandatario, quien no revel\u00f3 el <strong>monto de la compra<\/strong>, pero asegur\u00f3 que ya se ha reservado un presupuesto en el <strong>Ministerio de Turismo<\/strong> para iniciar las obras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El <strong>Hotel Santo Domingo<\/strong>, ubicado en un lugar estrat\u00e9gico frente al <strong>Malec\u00f3n<\/strong>, cerr\u00f3 sus puertas en <strong>diciembre de 2013<\/strong> y, desde entonces, ha permanecido en desuso. Aunque en <strong>2014<\/strong> se anunci\u00f3 su demolici\u00f3n para dar paso a un nuevo proyecto tur\u00edstico, este nunca se concret\u00f3. Ahora, con la adquisici\u00f3n por parte del Gobierno, el terreno de <strong>34,000 metros cuadrados<\/strong> ser\u00e1 transformado en un espacio moderno y funcional, dise\u00f1ado para albergar eventos de gran envergadura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El <strong>ministro de Turismo, David Collado<\/strong>, resalt\u00f3 que este centro de convenciones ser\u00e1 un <strong>hito para el turismo dominicano<\/strong>, atrayendo inversiones y generando empleo. \u00abEste proyecto posicionar\u00e1 a Santo Domingo como un <strong>distrito de reuniones y convenciones<\/strong> de primer nivel, comparable a los mejores del mundo\u00bb, afirm\u00f3 Collado. Adem\u00e1s, el proyecto contar\u00e1 con la <strong>asesor\u00eda de la Instituci\u00f3n Ferial de Madrid (Ifema)<\/strong>, organizadora de la <strong>Feria Internacional de Turismo (Fitur)<\/strong>, lo que garantiza que el centro cumpla con los m\u00e1s altos est\u00e1ndares internacionales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El <strong>director general de Bienes Nacionales, Rafael Burgos G\u00f3mez<\/strong>, firm\u00f3 el contrato de compra del terreno, marcando el inicio de una nueva etapa para la zona. El proyecto tambi\u00e9n ha generado entusiasmo en el sector privado. <strong>Juan (Papo) Bancalari<\/strong>, presidente de la <strong>Asociaci\u00f3n de Hoteles y Turismo (Asonahores)<\/strong>, destac\u00f3 que este centro de convenciones <strong>cambiar\u00e1 el modelo tur\u00edstico del pa\u00eds<\/strong>, atrayendo no solo a turistas, sino tambi\u00e9n a empresarios y profesionales de diversos sectores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La construcci\u00f3n del centro de convenciones no solo revitalizar\u00e1 una zona abandonada de la ciudad, sino que tambi\u00e9n <strong>impulsar\u00e1 la econom\u00eda local<\/strong>, generando empleo y atrayendo inversiones extranjeras.
